It's time for our bi-weekly newsletter, and we're excited to share the latest developments from our team. Here's a rundown of this week's progress:
🎓 Player Economy:
Refined player rarity definitions to complement improvements in player generation.
Updated the player generation algorithm to compute players' potentials.
Enhanced the engine to recognize new positional ratings.
Designed and started balancing the new squad generation algorithm, aligning it with the changes in player generation.
Made user interface improvements to the player growth feature, enhancing user experience.
Introduced a feature for player retirement from the game at a configurable age.
🖥️ Technical Improvements:
Removed unused player attributes, optimizing both performance and the codebase.
Added admin commands to aid in the testing of player growth.
Fixed an issue with Layer 2 deployment that affected indexing.
🏗️ Backend Scaling:
Refactored the infrastructure for delivering match information, improving performance at scale.
Investigated and identified bottlenecks affecting performance at a larger scale.
Addressed issues related to the ending and beginning of Seasons at scale.
Implemented various improvements around Seasons to ensure they end and begin seamlessly.
🏃♂️ As you can see, there's a significant emphasis on the Player Economy currently, as we're keen to get the new features we've been working on into your hands during the next playtest!
