New Hire
Footium showing no signs of slowing down in the Transfer Market!
We are excited to announce the signing of Samesh Lakhotia! Based in India, Samesh joins the team as a Back End Developer with expertise in MongoDB. Samesh has experience interning for Oracle and Microsoft before joining us. At Footium, he'll be working on all things backend, including databases, servers and APIs! Samesh supports Manchester United and his favourite goal is Robin Van Persies' diving header against Spain in the 2014 World Cup.
Footium Football League Vote Concluded
After a very close vote from Club Holders, it has been decided that the Footium Football League will begin with three substitutions per match rather than five. Your Footium club allows you entry into the Footium Football League, giving you voting power by holding your club which enables you to have a say on the finer details of the game.
Phase 2 Conclusion
Phase 2 of the Beta ended last week and it went down to the wire for who would be crowned the Champion in their respective leagues.
Division 1 - League 1 Champion: Gareetoftur Athletic
Division 2 - League 2 Champion: Alsdon-Sel United
Division 2 - League 3 Champion: Wooket Brins
Thank you to all of the testers from Phase 2, we have had some invaluable feedback and can't wait to expand the game further in Phase 3.
Coming Up
Mini Playoff League
Relegation and Promotion was in play for the Phase 2 Beta which will be reflected in the Phase 3 Leagues when we kick off in a couple of weeks. The playoff league will begin on Monday 2nd of May. It will consist of teams that finished 2nd and 3rd in Division 2 and the winner will get promoted to Division 1 for Phase 3. This is not how playoffs will work when Footium is released, we are planning on adding extra time and penalties where we'll be able to have a cup-like competition.
Phase 3 League Reveal
For those of you that are testing in Phase 3 of the Footium beta, your leagues will be revealed soon. We are looking forward to seeing some more rivalries and social media content for your clubs getting created!
Voice AMA with the Team
We are planning to have a voice AMA in our Discord very soon with Jordan & James (Co-Founders), George (COO), Fraser (Full Stack Developer) and Sam (Community Lead). We will announce a date and a time after consulting with the community, make sure to think of any questions you might want to ask.
Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend and thanks for reading the Footium newsletter, if there is anything more you would want adding to this weekly update, please let us know in the comments!
