Footium Weekly Update
New Beta Season Announced π
Following the conclusion of the recent beta season, there will be a few weeks of off-season to implement feedback from the current testers. Due to the team focusing on the advanced match simulation engine and new front end, there will be improvements but no major new features in this coming season!
The next beta season will begin on Monday the 27th of June with matches starting the next day on Tuesday the 28th of June!
We want to thank all of the beta testers so far, the response on social media during the last season of the beta was amazing for the whole team to see. We can't wait to see what you all come up with for next season and beyond. The Footium community is truly built different.

Message from our COO π
Hey everyone - I hope you are doing well! The Footium Team wanted to say a few words about building through the bear market and Footium's Future.
tl:dr - We are all still super bullish on Footium, we have funding for the foreseeable future and are continuing to add talented people to the team!
Building in a bear market can often be helpful for teams, for a few reasons. There is less intense pressure to launch products super speedily, risking releases before a product is truly ready. It is more feasible to hire amazing people for your team as there isn't as much demand as there is during a bull market, where funding is more readily available.
Some team members have been in crypto since 2016 and 2017, and have seen these cycles before. The bear market of 2018-2020 is where some of the biggest companies in crypto now were born. ETHLend (now Aave) raised money in 2017, built out a great product during the bear market and have now become the largest DeFi Lending protocol. Sorare raised funding in 2019 and 2020, continued building their product and team, and grew massively in popularity during the recent bull run, with their recent fundraising at a $4bn valuation.
Obviously it isn't as easy as "raise funding, build a good team, create a fantastic product and voila, $4bn valuation" - but the above examples show that persistence through difficult times can really pay off in crypto. Bear markets are a great time to focus on creating and perfecting your product, growing a highly involved core community, and using these foundations to grow rapidly as market conditions improve.
To summarise - The Footium Team are incentivised by the game's success over the long term. Some of us have been working on the game for almost 2 years, and negative price action won't diminish our desire to build an amazing multiplayer football management game. The seed round we raised earlier this year puts us in a great place to continue signing fantastic team member and provides us with decent runway to see out this bear market and launch a great product!
Thanks for all of your support in the journey so far, it really does motivate the team seeing people getting involved in the discord, on Twitter, and enjoying playing the beta!
