Footium Launch Roadmap 🚀
First of all, the entire Footium team would like to thank everyone who signed up to test the upcoming Beta! We could never test the new front-end and game engine this thoroughly without your help
Launch Roadmap
•Upcoming Beta (Phase 4): This will begin in Early November and run for around a month, testing the new front-end and game engine, as well as some other new features).
•Final Beta (Phase 5): Phase 5 will closely represent the full game launch, with a majority of the features and front-end pages being implemented, and the beta being accessible by all clubs. This will start before Christmas, and run over the Christmas period for around a month.
•Official Launch: Following on from the Final Beta in December, we will be gearing up for the official launch! Feedback/bugs from the Final Beta & our smart contract audit will determine the exact date of the official launch, which will be in Q1 2023.
Smart Contract Audit 🔒
The core game will be finished by the end of this year, with all club holders being able to experience it via our final beta. The official launch of the game will be in Q1 2023, which will be after our thorough smart contract auditing process is completed. Given the frequency and severity of hacks within crypto, with billions being lost last year alone, audits are absolutely essential and commonplace with almost all serious projects.
Generally, smart contract audits take around 1 month in total for the code to be inspected by professional auditors, and then any problems found to be fixed and the contract code to be re-examined. We had planned to conduct the smart contract audit sooner, however our previous web3 developer Fraser left the company to pursue a great opportunity in on-chain gaming, which we wish him the very best with! We have now hired an amazing person for the web3 developer role who can work with the audit firm to ensure that we can meet the highest standards possible.
Our users' safety is our top priority and we would never launch without knowing we had done everything in our power to ensure the security of our protocol. The damage caused to the game's reputation and brand by a hack would be irreversible, so we do not want to be short-sighted here - we are building a game for the long-term!
We are super excited to show you all what the team has been working on over the last few months in the upcoming beta, and are looking forward to seeing some great content and feedback from you all! Thanks to all of our amazing community members that have continued to support us, here's to the future of football management games with Footium
New Signing ✍️
We are delighted to announce the signing of Marco Pellizzari, a mastermind tactician! Marco is joining the team as our Lead Data Scientist. He has 8 years experience in Data Science, including working for William Hill & most recently one the world's leading mobile games studios Zynga!
Marco will work across the game engine and user analytics, ensuring the game is as realistic as possible and providing valuable insights into user behaviour. Marco supports Vicenza and has a painful childhood memory of being knocked out of the European Cup semi-finals by Chelsea! His favourite goal is Del Piero vs Germany to make it 2-0 in the 2006 World Cup!
Footium Locker Room 🎙️
Our fourth ‘meet the team’ locker room on Friday, with Footium cofounder James & front-end developer Akin joining! If you missed the space, you can catch up below. Make sure to keep an eye out for more as we continue our bi-weekly series!
Footium x Leyton Orient 🥅
Leyton Orient extended their lead at the top of the table with a 1-0 win with Salford City at the weekend. We had to include a clip of the goal in the newsletter this week, not only for a mind blowing skill, but also the timing of the advertising boards..
